Make an Impact in Healthcare Education

Are you an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician ready to move into a leadership role? Do you enjoy mentoring others and helping students build successful careers? We are seeking a Program Director to lead our Ophthalmology Assistant Program and help develop the next generation of eye care professionals.

This is a great opportunity for a certified ophthalmology professional who wants to combine clinical expertise with teaching and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the Ophthalmology Assistant Program

  • Teach courses in a hybrid environment (in-person and online)

  • Monitor student attendance, grades, and academic progress

  • Create and oversee lab training experiences

  • Coordinate externship placements and required documentation

  • Advise and support students throughout the program

  • Maintain curriculum quality and industry relevance

  • Ensure compliance with accrediting, state, and federal standards

  • Collaborate with faculty, leadership, and advisory boards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician

  • Current COA, COT, or COMT certification required

  • Leadership or supervisory experience required

  • Teaching or training experience preferred

  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
