Externship and Clinical Site Coordinator

Externship and Clinical Site Coordinator

The position requires up to 90% travel primarily in Texas.

Summary:
Primary focus of this position is to identify and establish partnerships with clinical sites for student training and externship opportunities. The employee is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with external partners, ensuring smooth and effective externship processes and career placement opportunities for students in their respective fields. The employee works collaboratively with campus leadership to ensure a sufficient number of viable extern and clinical sites are available for each program. Performance will be measured by generation of quality educational opportunities within the defined program. The position requires up to 90% travel primarily in Texas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Site Identification and Development
• Research and identify potential clinical sites for student training based on program requirements and student needs
• Evaluate and assess the suitability of external sites for externship opportunities
2. Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including healthcare facilities, clinics, and other organizations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clinical sites, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
3. Coordination and Logistics
• Coordinate the logistics of student placements, including scheduling, site visits, and orientation
• Ensure that all necessary documentation and agreements are completed and maintained for each externship site
4. Compliance and Quality Assurance
• Ensure that all externship sites comply with institutional policies and accreditation standards
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of externship experiences, collecting feedback from students and site supervisors

5. Collaboration
• Work closely with academic faculty and program directors to align externship opportunities with curriculum requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance student training experiences and outcomes.
6. Reporting and Documentation
• Maintain accurate records of student placements, site agreements, and partner communications.
• Prepare reports on externship activities and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, healthcare, business, marketing).
• Previous experience in an educational or healthcare setting, preferably in externship coordination or clinical placement.
