Summary
Works under the direction of the Program Director. Teaches theory and practical applications using instructional methods and teaching skills in the online classroom. Monitor student progress throughout courses, setting educational objectives for the students, ongoing mentoring and attention to the continued needs of the students, maintaining a satisfactory working relationship with our students, faculty, and staff. Participate in training, preparation, and continuing education in instructional methods and teaching skills. Assist with curriculum review and development as needed. Utilize data to determine programmatic trends related to curriculum, student needs, and programmatic outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Identify, measure, and supply pharmaceutical products that have been ordered by a prescriber
• Teach and explain the duties of a pharmacy technician which may vary depending upon the type of facility of employment such as hospitals or retail pharmacy
• Ensure the students learn the medication, order-entry, refill process, and medication safety
• Instruct on a variety of topics in the Pharmacy Tech program such as (pharmacology, computer technology, sterile and non-sterile compounding, billing and reimbursement, direct patient care, inventory management, pharmacy law and regulations, and quality assurance
• Identify and Review the components of the pharmacy technician certification examination for students to successfully pass
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
• Monitor instructor lesson plans and their posting
• Adheres to academic policies/procedures for compliance
• Conduct labs/skills for students in a pharmacy lab to develop master skills in the clinical experience
• Ensure compliance with all internal compliance standards and processes
• Ensure compliance with ABHES, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain Faculty Files as per CHCP and ABHES requirements
• Monitor TWC, federal, and accrediting standards compliance.
• Adheres to academic policies/procedures for compliance.
• Provides competency-based education
• Delivers online class instruction of the College of Health Professions-approved online course
• Enables student exit competencies
• Delivers learner-centered instruction through distance delivery mechanisms
• Encourages student success
• Manages the online class environment

• Relates industry experience to learning
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and college policies and processes
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Education and Experience
• Degree or post-secondary education and relevant experience to meet state (TWC) and ABHES accreditation requirements.
• Current certification in Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) (State and National Certification) and/or at least 3 years of experience in the Pharmacy Tech field with retail and hospital experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a Pharmacy with 1-2 years of online teaching experience preferred.
• Must be an ABHES and TWC-approved Instructor
