Health Care Management Program Adjunct Instructor

Department: 500-0000 General Administration
Location: Houston, TX

Summary
The adjunct instructor is responsible for leveraging their expertise to develop, maintain, and deliver education services to students through creating and maintaining core curriculum, ensuring delivery of core curriculum, and preparing course plans and materials. The primary responsibilities to students are imparting knowledge, developing career abilities, and instilling professional attitudes within a creative and enthusiastic learning environment. In addition, faculty have administrative and developmental responsibilities, including advising students to enhance their educational experience. Assist Health Care Management Programs, assisting students toward successful program completion, and assisting in staffing the online classroom with instructors who support the mission of the college.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure the students learn the essential counseling skills, behavior modification techniques, and various therapeutic interventions applicable in diverse clinical settings.
• Instruct on a variety of topics in the Health Care Management program such as (courses in healthcare statistics, accounting, health care finance, and public speaking.)
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
• Monitor instructor lesson plans and their posting.
• Adheres to academic policies/procedures for compliance.
• Ensure compliance with all internal compliance standards and processes.
• Ensure compliance with ABHES, state, and federal regulations.
• Monitor TWC, Federal, and Accrediting Standards Compliance.
• Adheres to academic policies/procedures for compliance.
• Provides competency-based education.
• Delivers online class instruction of the College of Health Professions approved online course.
• Enables student exit competencies.
• Delivers learner-centered instruction through distance delivery mechanisms.
• Encourages student success.
• Manages the online class environment.
• Contributes to a culture of learning.
• Relates industry experience to learning.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and college policies and processes.
• Other duties as assigned.


Education
• Master’s Degree required with at least 18 credit hours in the specialized fields (healthcare statistics, accounting, health care finance, and public speaking) or other related specialty.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years' relative experience to meet state, programmatic, and institutional accreditation requirements.
• 1-2 years of online teaching experience preferred
• Must be an ABHES and TWC-approved Instructor
